BM Wedgewood Gray
BM Woodlawn Blue
Another Gray Wisp
I'm about to pull my hair out! All of these pics just make it harder to choose. I think I want a warm blue/gray for the dining room and a cooler blue/gray/green for the bedroom. Well, I'm off to get my samples! Who knows? I'll give an update tomorrow. Hopefully, I can figure this out and get started on some more room makeovers! Do you have any favorite blues?

Welcome to Beneath the Magnolias! Hi, I'm Angie! I like paint brushes, glue guns, power tools, and old stuff, especially furniture. If it can be made I want to make it. If it can be painted I want to paint it. If it can be built, yep, I want to build it! I now sell my furniture pieces and home decor items at University Pickers in Huntsville, AL. I hope during your visit you will be inspired to craft, paint, and use power tools too. Let's be creative together.

ohhhhhhhh -- good luck my friend!!! i am sure it will HIT you -- just the right choice! i am sure of it -- but i have to say -- you can't go wrong with any of them ; ) hugs...
ReplyDeleteThank you Andrea! I came home with samples of Woodlawn Blue, Palladian Blue, and Yarmouth Blue (my daughter insisted on this one). We'll see...
ReplyDeleteI never liked blue or used it in my decorating until this house. I have a 2 blue bathrooms and a blue sunroom ceiling and 2 blue vintage club chairs. I'm really loving it! A really soft blue I used in my attic bathroom is glass slipper - I also used it on my porch ceiling. Can't wait to see what you choose.

Thank you Kelly! I looked on your blog to try to find your pics of your attic bathroom but a lot of the pics weren't showing up. I don't know if it's just my browser? I did look at some google pics and that is a pretty color!
DeleteI always use neutral colors in the main areas of my house. But I did paint my sons room a dark blue gray and I love it. I would actually use it my dining room. Whatever you decide I'm sure it's going to look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mandy! It would be great if a few blogger friends could just come over and tell me. But of course, we all live too far away from each other. :( I will figure it out. :)
DeleteYes I agree Angie. How awesome would that be to get together. Oh well there's always conferences in the future.
DeleteCan't wait to see what color you decide to go with.
Restoration Hardware- Silver Sage. Best bluey/greeny color evah! I painted my beach house bedroom this color 4 years ago and I still love it:)
ReplyDeleteDorie, I just looked at some pics online of Silver Sage. It is so pretty! Thanks for the suggestion!
DeleteLOL! Don't rip out that beautiful hair of yours. Just mix all the colors together and call it a day :0 TeHe! Good luck with the decition making can't wait to see the final color you choose.
ReplyDeleteAll of the colors are so close together I probably could just mix them all together and be done with it! LOL
DeleteOne of my favorite colors for a soft gray/blue is Silver Gray by Benjamin Moore. I've used it a couple times now and I love it.
ReplyDeleteI just looked at some pics of Silver Gray. It is sooo pretty! Thank you :)
DeleteBlues are so tough ... it took me years to finally pick one for my bedroom. Though, I was also intimidated about painted the vaulted ceiliong!
ReplyDeleteSo, I used BM Yarmouth Blue in my kitchen and powder room and just love it in both spaces.
In my bedroom I ended up going with Dutch Boy Big Sky Blue. Though, I had my fabrics first so I needed to match that up with the color ...
Nothing like throwing a few other options into the mix!
:)
Linda
The BM Quiet Moments looks really pretty in that picture above.
I actually got a sample of Yarmouth Blue and it is very pretty. That's my daughter's favorite one. Quiet Moments looks good with the lighting in my house. Thanks for the suggestions Linda! :)
DeleteOh my! Grey is so hard. Especially the right blue grey! I originally tried BM's "Wickham Grey" (What can I say, I'm a Jane Austen fan. :) but it pulled pretty blue. It might be a great fit for you if you like the blue grey. It was pretty but a lot bluer than the picture. I ended up trying BM's "Rockport Grey" becuase I was looking for a soft, creamy, really, really warm grey. It ended up being way to dark so we dumped a bunch of white paint in and came up with the PERFECT GREY! You can see pics of it on my blog here: http://tomseth.blogspot.com/2012/01/basement-remodel-in-progress.html . Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Betheny for the color advice! I checked out your basement and I LOVE it! You did such a great job. :)
DeleteP.s. I ended up getting it color matched at HomeDepot because BM was too far away and the color match code is on my blog in the same post that I linked you to earlier. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! That is such a great color.
DeleteBlue and gray colors are hard colors. They can end up looking to blue or to purple. I've been busy looking at blue/gray colors for my laundry room and kitchen. I did a blue/green/gray in our bedroom. It is called Seascape from Valspar at Lowe's. You can see photos of the room her -
